Indications/Uses
HSV infection of the skin including initial & recurrent genital herpes & herpes labialis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply 5 times daily 4 hrly for 5 days, may be extended for another 5 days if healing is not complete.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Infants. Lactation.
Special Precautions
For cutaneous use only. Not for use in the eye or mucous membranes. Patients w/ immunodeficiency disease, AIDS, bone marrow transplantation. Not to be used for prevention of recurrent infections or prevention of transmission of infection. Pregnancy. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Discomfort upon application; mild pain, transient burning or stinging, contact dermatitis, erythematous eruption, eczema, allergic reaction, vulvitis, facial edema, rash, vesicular exanthema, mild drying or flaking of the skin; erythema, itching.
